Its been brought up a few times now that there are no aftermarket replacement struts and shocks available outside of the Mitsubishi dealer for the Mirage. So, today I sent a message to Monroe, KYB, Gabriel, Sachs, and OSC to see if they have any plans to make struts/shocks for the Mirage. They have all made suspension parts for other/older Mitsubishi's. If you guys can think of any other manufacturers who make such parts, I'd be happy to contact them.

Why Superlift? Don't they specialize in off-road suspensions?

Gabriel got back to me this morning:

    Good morning Tim,
As of today we don’t offer any products for any Mitsubishi as of yet.
No time frame is known at this time.
    Regards,

Monroe also got back to me this morning.

    Tim,

Unfortunately, we do not have information on what or if any future plans are in the works for this vehicle application. However, I will make an internal note on our coverage reports to ensure our marketing and engineering team is aware of the demand in the market for units. We apologize for any frustration or inconvenience that this may have caused.

A bit more reading here on our own forum shows that Tokico makes the OEM struts and shocks.

TOKICO (OEM strut/shock mfr) lists the shock @ strut to fit, "lancer/colt/mirage"

The part number on the front struts is: B1109
The part number on the rear shocks is: E20041

So, we just have to find a better distributor than dealers to get Tokico products from. There are quite a few and I'll be contacting them to see if they can get these. Unfortunately, Tokico US doesn't list these parts.... so it will be interesting to see if they can be acquired.

Okay, another issue... The Tokico Catalog OEM numbers do not fully agree with the US Mitsu part numbers.

Tokico says the front struts are: 4060-A345 and 4060-A379
Our own research shows the front struts are: 4060-A382 (2014 & 2015) and 4060-A494 (2017)

Tokico says the rear shocks are: 4162-A199 and 4162-A219
Our own research shows the rear shocks are: 4162-A219 (yay a match for 2014/2015) and 4162A396 (2017)

I assume most of you would want to install the 2017 struts and shocks on yoru Mirages as it reduces body roll a little bit.

Alright, I just got off the phone with Tokico (actually Hitachi who owns them). In order for them to sell the shocks as aftermarket parts (or OE replacement parts), there is legal mumbo jumbo they have to go through, probably with Mitsubishi. That process has not been started as of yet, and he didn't know when it would be done. So, basically we can only get OE Tokiko struts / shocks from the dealer network at this point in time. So, we have to wait till Tokico jumps through the hoops to sell aftermarket, or one of the other shock and strut manufacturers develops parts for the Mirage. He did mention that if we had enough interest in 'performance' shocks, that avenue is available.
