I'm selling brand new Enasaves which are old but have been stored inside in a heated space. They were removed and put into storage before the tires were exposed to any harsh environment, snow, ice, UV, bad roads.
The pics I attached are tires I found under a tarp at my house. These tires have been outside all their life, IIRC they are 8-11 years old. I inflated them to 41 psi for several reasons. 1. Check for leaks. 2. Check for integrity. Check for safety.
I was shocked when I saw what happened to the tires. One blew out completely. All the others developed major cracks. These things are death traps. Yet I was going to mount them on my Mirage and drive the highways at 75mph. Why wouldn't I? look at the remaining tread on these tires. Lots of life left. Nope.
Yet the Enasaves in my garage, stored heated and inflated to 25 psi are still 100% safe and useable. The Enasaves I have off rim are probably even better for the long run as they haven't been stretched on rims. Basic can offer way more color about this than I could ever.
If this isn't graphic proof of storing tires inside and heated vs. outside in the weather then I don't k now what is.
