I noticed the plastic cladding on the wheel arches and around the lower part of the rest of the car. It looks to me like Mitsu's response to the Chevrolet Spark "Activ" trim, which is a real thing, where even entry level cars are being dressed up to try to capitalize on the "crossover" and "utility vehicle" craze:

Aside from the wheel arch plastics it looks like a typical Mirage SEL (Can)/Mirage GT (US).
I would think adding mass/width in the arches like that would further exaggerate the Mirage's "Guinea pig" stance so I'm glad it didn't make it onto current model.
