Question Would this tire size fit?

Hi everyone, just curious would a tire at the size of 195/75 R14 fit on the steel rim that comes with our little workhorses?? Is this tire too big?

Go to the website willtheyfit.com and put in these values to compare your OEM tires to 195-75-14s...

    Then click the CALCULATE button.

Those tires will probably fit, but notice they are quite a bit taller than the OEM tires. Your speedometer will be off by roughly 12%.

That size tire will not fit the wheel well and will rub against the plastic trim on every turn. They are too wide.

175/80 will fit, but may rub slightly in certain situations depending on the fitment of your particular plastic trim pieces.

175/80 are the largest tires that will fit and they only fit because of their relative narrowness. They are 11 percent larger in diameter than stock. Mileage and speed readouts will be affected accordingly.

185/60-14 should fit. I would go to a shop and have them test fit. Most shops have a 30 days return policy, so if they don't fit, just tell them you want to throw your stocks back on right then and there.

My local Discount Tire is pretty good about this. These guys ordered a tire for me, mounted it on a loose wheel, and let me take it home to test fit it on my Mustang. They didn't charge me anything for this. The only stipulation was that I couldn't drive on it.

I run 185-55-15 tires on 15 x 6.5" wheels and they don't rub anything under any conditions...

I have 195/50R15 on right now. 185/60R14 is my Winter tires I believe. No rubbing or anything. I think going up to 75 on a 195 is too much. You might be able to get away with a 60-65 on a 195.

Are you guys all at factory ride height?

The people on taller tires, did you notice better freeway mpg with the stick?
