I have to agree with those who say their head never touches the headrest when driving. I have to intentionally lean my head back in order to make contact with the headrest.

I wonder if the CVT was stuck in second gear (high range.)

I race around my mirage which has a cvt all the time (wish i had the manual tho) never really had a problem with acceleration. As for the headrest never really had an issues with it, I am 5'4 though lol so me being short might have something to do with it.

I think the problem is you cant really floor a CVT. If you floor a CVT it just stalls.

I'm 6'2". Just went out and sat in mine and leaned my head back to touch the headrest and literally had to look down my nose to drive so don't know what is up with that.

Huh? If you leave it it in "D" it won't rev very much for sure. But taking off in "B" I have no problem revving up 5k plus.

lol. That was my thought too. Even in 'D' it doesn't stall.

My corolla hugs my body more but its angle is smaller which is uncomfortable for me. Mirage seats are perfect, so its subjective.

I don't understand your problem with performance. I see a lot of mirage drivers who drive very fast because it doesnt seem like high speeds in a light weight car. If the power you are talking about is when you go up hills then you want to down shift into 'B.'
I was talking about making a left in an intersection, with cars coming with a hole for me to proceed. My wife has a CVT in her Forester, and it gets up very well. It might be because this car only had 8 miles on it when I took it out for a test drive. Perhaps the CVT needs to do some kind of calculations and program itself to be able to do basic merging and such? It WAS downright scary. I am not being extreme about this one bit. But, if it just needs a little road time maybe that is just the way it is?

Yep, it was for me. I could not drive like that. It might just be the way I enjoy sitting, upright, in a seat? I do not ride in a reclined position. Always been that way. But I will try tilting the seat back a little. Maybe that is what I did months back on one and seemed fine?
