    Tire valve stems need change

I'm finding the length/angle of the valve stem combined with the hubcap design to be really awkward. Getting the cap off takes along time. You can only turn it about 20 degrees at a time. It's also awkward using a pressure gauge because the hubcap opening interferes with it. One simple solution would be extending the stem about 1.5 inches (40 mm).

The current setup makes me consider removing the hubcaps altogether. So far (22,000 km) this is the only complaint about the car.

The stems required for this car are very particular since that is where the TPMS sensors are attached. Not sure that a different valve stem will be an option for you.

Yeah...check out the pictures and video in this post to understand how the TPMS sensor connects to the valve stem inside your wheel.

I find the same issue. I usually just take the hubcap off. None of our cars at work have tpms. I thought all cars came with it by now but I guess not.

Wow...I didn't know that TPMS is not required in Canada?!?

TPMS isn’t mandatory in Canada , and so far, there are no plans to make it so. Transport Canada says it is monitoring the effectiveness of TPMS and will not rule out the possibility of mandatory requirement, but also says that it will make no decisions before looking at several issues, including false or no warnings, sensor battery life, long-term system durability, and the extremely low numbers of tire failures cited in fatal collisions.

Neither did I til now. No tpms but we've had mandatory daytime running lights since 1990.

you can buy valve stem extensions to meet your needs.
I've used them without issue in the past.

Great idea, but I sure would like to get a set where all four extensions have the thread on the same side, not like the picture.....or is that a 'right side' 'left side' kind of thing? <g>
