    Bad Rear Alignment (pictures)

I have a 2015, 5sd Mirage. It's got about 28,xxx miles on it now. I saw the alignment threads and there is really good information on there about the rear alignment. I just want to share how 'bad' my alignment is. These pictures are with my 15 inch wheels; 15"x6.5", +38 offset. Tires are Falken Azenis RT615 P205-50-15. These tires do rub on harsh bumps.

Anyways, here are some pictures of my severe alignment. I'm checking on tire wear weekly. At the moment, I've switched back to the stock wheels/tire setup and yes, the rear tires are wearing out unevenly. Our roads in Minnesota are in constant construction and it's difficult to find a road that has been newly paved. I do need an alignment as the steering wheel is off a few degrees while going straight.

It's tough to judge alignment against body panels for a lot of reasons. Same goes for trying to visually sight along the rear wheels toward the front as the rear axle width is narrower. I know - I tried! In the end it was a fun experiment for me.

Your best bet is to get your car's alignment checked at a shop you trust. That may or may not include your local Mitsubishi service center.

That's a good first step. Now go get a 4 wheel alignment check. If your rear alignment is out of specification, head directly to your dealer so they can verify it themselves and start the rear axle replacement process.

I do need an alignment as the steering wheel is off a few degrees while going straight.
You might need a new rear axle AND a front-end alignment.

Here's a video explanation of why your steering wheel might be off-center...

If there's anyone left on this forum who has NOT had an alignment check done, GO DO IT. You may be entitled to a $1,000+ warranty repair and not know it!

Thanks a bunch guys! Been really helpful! Definitely getting an alignment before winter rolls by. See if I can get the before and after.

As for the pictures, haha, yeah, it's definitely hard to tell but you can definitely tell the difference compared to the one I have pictured and the driver's rear as well.

We've only had an alignment done on one of 37 cars. We figured since it looked like that it was way out and the rh rear tire wore more than the rest. It turned out being within specs(allegedly) so I just rotate the tires every 4-6000miles and tire wear seems to be fine now.
I was following a random 17' hatch on the weekend for a few miles (not on of our cars) and it sure looked like it was dog tracking with the rear end over to the right.

I would stop by and have it look at by Mitsubishi dealer, usually they charge $69.99 to do alignment. I try do it myself once and have the thing screw up... nothing is 100% perfect unless you have done on a machine.

Remember to get a before and after print out. Once you sure everything is done, use a paint marker to mark the nut in the tire rot so you know the perfect point.

Here are the specs on my 2015 ES with 76,000 miles. I hit a curb on Saturday and had to take it in for an alignment.

Camber on the right rear is a tiny bit out, but I have worn two sets of stock Enasaves flat as boards.
