I have a 1999 Eclipse (non-turbo) which came from the factory with a Chrysler drivetrain. Whenever I need drivetrain parts, I head to the nearest Mopar counter because Mitsubishi parts are almost double in some cases.

    Awesome.

But they said there are none available in North America and they had no idea how long it would take to get one in.
Odd, because this same transmission is used in the Versa Note.

    Also in the Chevrolet Spark.

The Ford AOD and C6 will easily last 200k plus. My grandpa's old truck had the C6 before he sold it guy still has it at 450k plus in the original engine and trans. Granted he has replaced nearly every body panel multiple times to make up for it.

Hmmm...that doesn't look too good. Especially on a trans where filter replacement is not even mentioned in the service manual?!?

What supports the other end of the input shaft in the engine? (Pilot bushing?) is it screwed up too?

Sorry for the dumb question... But automatics aren't my thing

I wonder if Mitsubishi Corp watches this forum ever? And if so, are you seeing this Mitsubishi? Might want to address the lack of filter literature in the manual or anywhere.

Pryme: they know about, and I've even been told they appreciate the forum. But I doubt they pay anybody to follow it.

If anybody wants Mitsubishi to know something, best to contact them directly.

Is the transmission running ok after the oil/filters got replaced, no more issues?
