Crime happens in good neighborhoods too. And even those who live in the rich part of town still have to travel to downtown occasionally. Dont act like an ostrich with his head in the sand. Better to be prepared and to have it and "hope you dont need to use it".

I carry a first aid kit also in my car. Do you consider that paranoid? It not paranoia, in fact I feel calmer than you because I know that I am prepared if a criminal strikes.

If you dont want to take personal responsibility for you and your families safety than thats fine. But dont try to put me down for thinking one step ahead and being prepared. Because violent crime is a reality and happens every day.

Wasn't trying to put you down. As much as I'd like to I have respect for this forum and don't want to start expressing feelings of anger. You've really got to stop thinking everyone is out to get you all the time and putting you down.

Maybe I'll try to word my point differently as it was obviously taken the wrong way. If I lived in a place where I thought being carjacked or having a home invasion was a remote possibility I wouldn't be raising my family there. The only thing I worry about is my truck being broken into. Things are a little different here, just saying.... maybe I don't watch enough tv?

On the other hand, I haven't even locked my car for over two years even at night. Things are pretty quiet down here.
