Abs and traction control lights on by Burnt out brake lights!

I had a car come in today with the abs and traction control lights on. My scanner isn't able to read anything on these cars except generic obdII stuff though it can read all the computers on a 17' Nissan. Long story short the lights came on the dash because both brake lights were burnt out. I've heard of some led bulbs causing problems in some cars but I don't know if this has happened to anyone else yet? I replaced with 2 new bulbs and the all the lights except the traction control light went out. It went out after I started the car a second time though. Hope this will help someone down the road if it hasn't been posted already.

I've seen the same issue after multiple lights went out, not on my Mirage, but my Elantra. I changed the bulbs and everything worked out.

This just happened for the second time in a couple weeks. Car came in with abs, traction control and traction control off lights lit up. Scanned it and up with 2 cvt codes and 1 abs code for the brake light switch. Both times both brake light bulbs(in tail light) were burnt out.

In my case, it happened to one of our customers' cars (a 2014 Mirage) when the ABS and traction control warning lights were on. As soon as I hooked up the Snap-On scan tool, it picked several trouble codes. I couldn't remember which, but two of them were associated with the abnormalities of the brake light switch. After using the brake pedal depressor from the shop's alignment machine, the LED third brake light works, but none of the left and right brake lights worked. Two bulb replacements and a step on the brake pedal later, those warning lights disappeared.

You should've seen my boss' face when I explained about what happened to that Mirage.

I had extreme weirdness with my first Veespeak BT OBD device. All dash lights came on and my brakes were no longer powered? wtf was that?

wait, what years were the cars you had? pre 17? those were normal bulbs. 17 and later IIRC are LED

That problem would have been with a 2015 not 2017. I've had traction and maybe abs lights come on from some obd trackers that we tried in the Mirages a long time ago. I removed them and had to hard wire devices instead. Just this week I installed 2 trial version obdII trackers into a 2019 and 2015 Mirage to see if any issues pop up. 2 days in, so far so good.
