    3A92 aftermarket Camshafts

    Hi guys,

Was watching YouTube and found some videos of the mirage with 1.2 3A92 engine competing in the 1.5 liter rally class.

In Indonesia they are running mirage as rally cars as well in 1.5liter class with some mods. According to this site: http://autobild.co.id/Tips/Knowledge...mirage-standar

They added Unichip piggy back and exhaust for more hp.

Autobild Indonesia also has a 3 part YouTube video regarding the differences btw their rally mirage and the normal mirage. Video here: https://youtu.be/pcq-SmzQw1U

Found some captions in thai rally videos that they were running custom cams for more power.

    Video here : https://youtu.be/sLsZJdhldO8

And here is the face book page for purchasing the cams : https://m.facebook.com/mitsusport.th...53447758075479

They are called M’s Racing Cams from Thailand.

Wondering if anyone has tried running these cams? And whether we need a piggy back ecu or can the stock ecu run the engine with these cams.

    Thanks,
    Fit

A new cam is interesting. I wonder how that works with the Mitsubishi MIVEC variable valve control?

I think if you contact them via Facebook most of them can manage simple English.
Unfortunately I don’t have Facebook though.

I converted 17000 baht is like SGD$700 plus. Not cheap.

The increase in torque after 2750 rpm is amazing.. a sudden step up. Definitely will feel that and help in overtaking in a daily driver.
Wonder if they ran it with just ron98 petrol.. what’s the power like

When I read the thread title, my mind went the other way: "did someone make an extra-economy camshaft for the Mirage!??"

EG: the reduced lift & duration economy camshaft in the special XFI model of the Geo Metro that reduced peak HP by ~10% and shifted the torque curve lower down in the rev range. I put one in my car.

PS: thanks for sharing this info, Fit!

The XFI Metro was the bomb for sure. I had one and I would get around 55 mpg regularly. I wonder if you put the 3A91 1.1 liter camshaft in the the 3A92 you would get better mileage. Torque peak is at 3500 rpm on the 3A91
