Yup! Makes me wish I got a kiwi green... maybe some day I'll find the elusive kiwi green es 5 speed for cheap. I think having a bright color on a small car is a good thing in a world of huge suvs. Don't get me wrong I would love to drive a Honda Pilot around all day but at the end of the day I'm responsible for the gas and I feel like I'm in prison with a low mpg vehicle... my limited freedom is limited even more.

I feel fine driving the Mirage where I live because it's a smaller less populated area but if I lived in a massive city like L.A. I don't know how safe I'd feel driving it unless I stuck to side streets.

Yeah the high visibility jacket isn't going to save you though. My brother said some guy he knows owns a Focus ST thats bright Yellow/orange and everyone always hits it when its parked. The owner doesn't know why its always hit since its so easy to see.

Also had some people almost hit me even though I have a bright blue mirage with all these attachments. People always notice me right up until they don't.

Sometimes the more visible you are the more likely you are to be hit.

I think the Space Star is the lightest car sold in North America, isnīt it? So itīs easy to get injured when colliding with a car that weighs about 2 or 3 times more. Here in Germany a lot of old people drive the Space Star, no young driver would ever buy a car like the Space Star here. For the first car itīs much too expensive. Very old drivers and very young drivers are both supposed to make more mistakes in traffic, so this would be an explanation in my opinion, too.
    Mitsubishi Space Star 1.2:
    Daihatsu Cuore L251:

The instructors at track days harp this to no end. You definitely steer into where your looking.

Interesting, so to get hit less i need to be more discrete. Well thats too late.

Best examples of this are all of the police cars that get hit when pulled over on the shoulder. People concentrate on the flashing lights and plow right into the car with sometimes fatal outcomes.

I put some flood lights on my lower lip of my bumper to help with visibility the night And it's mostly for other cars to see me lol. I know it's a small car and people don't see it. I've almost been in a few accidents before I installed it. I also installed a bigger horn with compressor ☺

I'm having a hard time taking these numbers at face value. Something here is being misrepresented.
The Mirage weighs 2000lbs, crumples irreparably at the smallest hit and does poorly in crash testing.(as far as protecting it's own occupants)
Yet the Mirage is somehow wreaking havok on occupants of other vehicles weighing twice as much and with far better crash protection for their occupants (according to crash test stats)?!
    I don't buy it.

    http://mirageforum.com/forum/showthr...+driver+mirage

In the post above we see a Mirage with surprisingly little front end damage after having wrecked 4 vehicles, one an suv. The three people "injured" were in the first vehicle hit,
a Toyota Sienna van that was rearended by the Mirage.
A Sienna is one of the biggest and supposedly safest mini-vans produced. It's crash testing numbers are good and it's heavy as hell.
How on earth did this little Mirage hit one of the "safest" vehicles on the road, injuring all 3 occupants without even crumpling it's hood or at least seriously tearing up the bumper cover?
All the statistics say the Mirage should have crumpled up and injured it's driver only, so who's lying to who?

    Will weld for beer.
