Thread: Mitsubishi Mirage monthly sales, US & Canada, 2013-2023 (projected 7000/yr for U.S.)

  1. #461

Best sales growth in the U.S.

I just read that in February...

Mitsubishi was the fastest-growing mainstream brand, rising 39 percent year-over-year.
    Good for Mitsu!

Helped in no small part because of the Mirage's best ever Feb.

I know, at least around here, I am seeing lots of '17 Mirages both hatch and G4 recently. I recall seeing 3 in a short trip earlier this evening, not including my G4.

Year-to-date it's even beating the Spark in sales, which hasn't happened before.

And overall, the company did well in the States:

This is without almost no advertising. If they made an effort into promoting these cars, they Could sell quite a bit more imo.

It appears the fuel consumption reporting scandal hasn't hurt Mitsubishi here in North America. I wonder about the impact globally, though. Seems Nissan got a bargain when they bought their controlling share of stock.

I suspect that a large fleet purchase was responsible for the blip in sales this past month. We saw the same thing in Jan/Feb of 2015. Probably happened in 2016 as well, but it was overshadowed by "Mirage-A-Palooza".

Outlanders are everywhere up here, it seems there are more all the time, probably killing my hopes of buying an incentive laden one. It seems since gas prices have stayed steady full sized ones have been outpacing the sport.

Mirages not so much. I see a few, probably bought in the incentive ones from last year.

I would not be surprised to see G4s snatched up by rental car companies, they like the Galant. It is cheap and likely to be reliable.

The Mirage makes a perfect rental car. It is cheap, good on gas, reliable and has a roomy backseat and trunk. My inlaws will be needing a new car soon and I will have them check out a G4. Something with a backup camera. They have an Kia Sportage now but it is really hard to see behind the car when backing up for them.

Fleet sales affecting the results did cross my mind too.

EDIT: while it may make a lot of sense on paper for rental fleets, I've read two separate comments on other sites about people who were assigned Mirages as rentals... and they returned them, saying things like, "this is not a real car."

Depending on what they're used to driving, I could see some people being shocked by the Mirage experience.

Not a bad month, but a step down from last year with the $3500 rebates.
