    September sales

    USA:

Mitsu had its best September in 10 years in the US:

CYPRESS, Calif. Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) reported September 2017 sales of 8,430, up 17.2 percent over September 2016 making it Mitsubishi's best September sales in ten years. Leading the way was the Outlander which posted its best September sales ever with 2,895 units sold, up 50.4 percent over last year. The volume leader for the brand was Outlander Sport, which posted sales of 3,140, up 22.2 percent over September 2016.
Combined CUV sales for Mitsubishi climbed 34.3 percent over last year with total CUV sales of 6,035. Total 2017 calendar-year sales are up 6.5 percent compared to last year at this time with 79,195 units sold.

With 1583 deliveries, unfortunately the Mirage didn't participate in this bump up vs. last year, (vs. 1756 in Sept 2016).

    2009 Sparks were delivered.

    Canada

224 Mirages delivered, down slightly (2) from last Sept.

One of those Mirages delivered was mine if it got reported on time. (I bought mine on 9-29).

I know that where I bought my Mirage they sold at least 3 manual SE's and a couple manual ES's in the span of a couple of months. I know this from watching the inventory on cars.com. That's how I knew I had to buy now if I wanted a manual SE.

I suspect when the new Ecplise Cross comes out, Mitsu sales will jump up noticeably.

bolo: I'm pretty sure that includes your car.

pbb: probably right. And the Eclipse Cross has actually gone on sale in Europe. I should bump the thread about it.

Bumped: New Mitsubishi Eclipse returning in 2018. It's not what you think: "Eclipse Cross"

    fleet sales

We have no way of knowing what percentage of Mirage sales are to fleets, but company-wide...

Fleet sales are currently around 11 percent of Mitsubishi's annual U.S. sales. That's a significant drop from a peak of 30 percent roughly a decade ago.

    [...]

Fleets are a cost-effective way to raise awareness and put vehicles into the hands of consumers. He would be fine with a mix as high as 18 percent of sales.

    October deliveries

    USA:

The fun-to-drive, fuel-efficient Mirage sedan and G4 combined sales were up 18.7 percent for the month. [vs. Oct 2016]
1768 sold, which brings the year to date total to 20155, virtually guaranteeing 2017 will be another year over year increase for Mirage sales in the States.

    Chevy sold 1960 Sparks.

    Canada:

    205 Mirages sold.

VS. 730 Nissan Micras. No Spark figures yet, but the car's 2017 sales recovered strongly after the May stop-sale order, and the Spark now leads the Mirage in year to date sales.

I'm almost positive that my delivery on Sept. 29 is included in these October figures. The reason I say that is because it was mid-October before I got a "welcome to the family" email from Mitsubishi. I'm happy for the increase. It's a good car.

Pretty good numbers. It's worth noting that the rebates Mitsubishi is offering on the Mirage have never been LOWER. It's now only $500, which I think is what it was when I bought mine in December of 2014.

Well, the sales numbers are a bit better than last year... so that would suggest they don't have to offer screaming deals.

But we also don't know what proportion of the sales are to fleets.
