Got some Honda 15" Steel Rims and Used Studded Snow Tires

I'm all set to put the snow tires on the car when needed. I did some research before buying them to see if they would fit and did a test fit on one front after mounting the tires on the rims. All indications seem to say they would work but I haven't gone down the road with them yet. If anyone else is doing this... any observations on noise, mpg loss, traction improvement? I got stuck in a 2" drift one winter with stock tires. Want to avoid that again.

Not very sexy I know but I'm happy with them. I paid $135 for 4 tires and rims and got the dust caps on ebay for $10. I also had to buy new lugnuts for $20 I believe.

Not sure what size snows you are running. Some forum members here report that taller tire sizes occasionally rub.

There appears to be a trade-off between handling and fuel economy unless the tire & rims are chosen carefully. Top Fuel has a detailed thread on the topic.

I checked out willtheyfit.com before buying the tires and they were a few percent taller. I'll be damned if the car doesn't look like it's sitting 6" higher with those tires and rims. I know it's not but it does look different.

I bought the tires and rims separately and mounted the tires on the rims in my driveway using dish soap and a long tire iron.

lol kudos -- that's a lot of work without a machine. Even little tires like these are difficult.

The tires have actual studs? (Im only mobile phone, small pic) i dont think thats legal here but they sure would be fun on the lake
