The post is about Zero(sen) my first Mirage a 2014 oddball build. She was almost an SE but way more than an ES.

After I removed the useless (and heavy) 20mm cannon and 7.7mm machine guns (lol) Zero was much lighter and the lifetime mileage was 50.6 mpg imperial.

This was accomplished over 20,000 kms in 4 months, from October to February. I did a lot of freeway stuff, as you can see. Some weekends alone would be 1200 kms or more.

God, I miss that car so much. But now I have Shelby who has captured my heart.

My UltraGauge shows 50.1 long-term average since the last reset. Right now it's calibrated for my 195/50/15 tires, but I also switch between 175/65/14 for my winter set and 175/70/13 to use up the old tires before using those as winter wheels, so the actual numbers vary.

On a day in August 2016, at a temperature of over 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius), I covered the 462 miles (743.5 km) from Madison, WI to Vermilion Valley Service Plaza on the Ohio Turnpike with one fill. Assuming that the tank was full when I started (35 l = 9.246 gal US) and next to empty when I refueled, this would have been an average of 50 mpg US. It was an all-freeway trip. I drove at a maximum speed of 60 mph except for some downhill stretches. In Chicago, I encountered some congestion, and I had to slow down at the tolling points in Illinois (Chicago Skyway), Indiana, and Ohio; I think I took one bathroom break. I kept the AC off but opened the windows slightly. My car is a 2014 Mirage DE (hatchback) with manual transmission, completely unmodified.
Mirage DE, Red, 5-speed manual, VIN ML32A3HJ7EH007818. Purchased new 07/19/2014.

yep, I've been in the club a few times. This summer was one of them. on commutes I am almost always in the 45mpg club and if conditions are favorable I get into the low 50s.
Now 60 Mpg club... that's your truly exclusive club. I've never been there.

Today I calculated my fuel logs, and found that I get 21.7 km/l since I bought this car (in October this year). So yes, I'm in the club!

The build-in fuel economy meter happens to be a bit pessimistic in my car. I reset the 'B-meter' on the first 'full tank', and now it says 21.0 overall.

I am looking forward to the figures I will see next summer. I hope to enter the 60 MPG club.

Hello Space Wolf and welcome to the forum. Great first post.

Please make a garage entry here on the forum. Tell us a little about yourself and post some pictures too. We're all interested in these little cars and would like to know how yours is configured.

    Garage empty: add car

Also consider using the forum's Fuel Economy Log feature. A link can be found at the top of every page.

    Again, welcome.
