    New owner new member.

Hey all. Recently bought a 2018 Mirage ES 5MT.

After beating the crap out of it and breaking it in, I got 43mpg (5.5l/) out of it. Looking forward to playing with it some to hit my 60mpg or higher.

I’ve ordered new horns for it, am making up flat hubcaps soon, and am looking into ordering colour match tape for the body gaps.

My other vehicle gets 10mpg, so this is just going to be a fun challenge. (2015 Wrangler)

    Getting 43mpg on a tank where I averaged 130kmh... I think 60mpg should be a cakewalk.

Hello nickels and welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on your new Mirage. I think you're going to really appreciate this car's economy - affordable to purchase, affordable to operate.

60 mpg is a lofty goal for this car, especially if you only got 10 mpg out of your Wrangler. The U.S. EPA rates the base Wrangler at 17 mpg city & 21 mpg highway.

Things that should help you reach your goal include keeping the tires well inflated and driving slower to reduce wind resistance. A OBD-II device that allows you to monitor real-time fuel consumption provides instant feedback on driving habits. Did your Mirage come with a block heater? I bought one and use it year-round to give the motor oil a head start in reaching operating temperature.

Let us know if you have any questions about your Mirage - we'll do what we can to help you make the most of your new car.

35” sticky mud terrains, 5” lift, roof top tent, and too tall gearing make it an inefficient 4 speed. 5” fender extensions, adding 1000lb of armour... it does well for what it is.

Welcome, nickels! Funny seeing you here.

Does the Mirage replace another 2nd car? Or were you exclusively Jeeping before?

We’ve got a 2cyl Firefly getting scrapped this week? Haha. Project car, never ran.

Jeep for the last three years, which has consumed double the mirages purchase cost in fuel in that time.

Also have a 2015 Chev City Express for work.

Do we all want how to’s as I begin mods?

Also what are we running for real-time fuel monitoring? I see a $100 fuel scan gauge, a $250 all in scan gauge...

    Help haha
