    Has anyone replaced a clutch?

Has anyone replaced the Clutch on a 2015 Mirage without taking it to a mechanic? Do you need a lift or only jack stands?

Hello icedrgn86 and welcome to the forum.

We haven't heard of many clutch replacements here. Hopefully someone who has will come along soon to help answer your questions.

Sorry I'm not able to be of much help.

In the meantime, I hope you'll take some time to make a garage entry and tell us a little more about yourself.

    Garage empty: add car

    Welcome to the site!

I am quite sure you can do it without a lift. The trans is pretty darn small.

I would love to know more about this as well. I'm planning on replacing mine myself as well when the time comes, and I'm not really sure what I'm in for.

Its super ez you guys. I pulled my trans and swapped it in my driveway start to finish 1 day.

Doax is Right the trans weighs like 60lbs.

Theres only 3 things that are noteworthy

    1. Buy 2 axle nuts don't reuse the old ones
    2. You'll have to support the engine seperate from the car because it's like a 90s honda (nothing really underneath it, hung by each side)
    3. The shift linkage. Just tug it real hard or pry it off with a little crowbar. I was stumped on this fishing around for a release with a pick... No just tug pops on and off

I'm at 137k on my original clutch adjusted twice so far. I drive my mirage much harder than a typical owner, taxi use primarily for uber. I am hoping to get 150k.

YES buy new axle nuts because you pretty much destroy the originals when you remove them... they are a "one time use" only unfortunately.

If you've changed a fwd clutch before it's pretty straight forward and easy, I would drain the trans oil before hand.

Nice. Any pictures? I imagine the clutch is pretty small too. Where's the old parts?

I didn't change the clutch just the transmission. Something was wrong with 2nd gear. No pictures because that takes a lot of time. I've been debating pulling apart the old trans, fummins kinda inspired me and i could probably get a big table and chair.. Maybe it wouldn't be bad.
