hmm.. unlike most people here, I had no idea that the guy's "thing" was ragging on various cars. Had I known so beforehand, I might not have considered him to be such a jack@ss.

Reliability? Last time I looked in Consumers the Mirage reliability was rated better than the Spark, and much better than the Smart and Fiat.
And quite honestly, I think it looks better than all of them.

( PBS Motorweek loved the look of the Spark....I think it's hideous )

Imagine how many they'll sell when gas prices inevitably rise.

The problem with most car reviews is that reliability is the least important stat to them.

Yeah maybe they'd sell 42000 in 2 days? Gas prices are high enough up where I am. Check out Vancouvers prices! Name: gasprice chart.jpg

I agree with reviews not caring or mentioning obvious reliability issues when reviewing cars. It seems most think that cheap=unreliable.

They are "warning" us that gas prices in Vancouver will be the highest ever by this summer. It took them a little over 10 years of slowly weaseling prices back up after the GFC until finally reaching this point. Forget about the fact that oil prices are about half of what they were at the time. Production costs are up. Just don't ask anyone for specific details of what those costs are compared to what they were in 2007-08 because you will get crickets.

Strange, my car has a steering wheel lock, and I think I have what is literally the oldest car in this forum. I have the pushbutton start as well.

You can hear the lock disengage when you push the button. There's an electromechanical sound coming from inside the steering column.

I have a 2017 Mirage ES (manual). When the key is removed from the ignition, the steering wheel does not lock. You can go back & forth in either direction, & it never locks up.

Ditto on my 2014. No wheel lock.

Same with every 2015 and 2017 we have at work, no steering wheel lock. We have keys not push to start.
