You could 3d print a gear to be used to make a casting... However, you'd still need to be able to machine it to finish it.

I've done this before to make parts out of poured urethane.

Unfortunately, I don't think a urethane gear would hold up long! I know the 3A92 isn't a powerful engine, but still.

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

You could fit a 185/65-15 tire on the front and get 9.4%.

Yes but the car is already horrifically slow. I just want to lower cruising rpms a bit, not elongate the whole spread.

    I hear ya.

    Food for thought:

A 4 cylinder cruising at 3,000 rpm is firing 12,000 times per minute.

To get the same number of combustion cycles per minute, a 3 cylinder engine has to turn 4,000 rpm.

In other words, it's not necessarily a bad thing that your 3-cylinder cruises at a little higher than the typical 4-cylinder.

Likewise, a big V8 has no problem at all lumbering along at 1,500 rpm... because it's still firing 12,000 times per minute.

I have the 1.0L with the taller European variant transmission. In top gear it has only 88% revs the 1.2L US version has!
I certainly would not have bought this 1.0L car if it had the same ridiculous transmission ratio as in the US!

I would like to see the 1.0L having a maybe 15% taller transmission ratio in top gear than the current European variant. The difference between 4th and 5th is much too minor.

The Suzuki Celerio, being a very similar car of same size and 1.0L with 3cyl , has barely over 2000rpm at 100km/h. That is what I call a sensible design. If it's too slow in fifth, you have the freedom to switch down. Mitsubishi has not given us that freedom.

Preach! You haven't investigated if there are other 5th gear options from other Mitsu products, have you?

How about a front strut tower brace? Just a bar that goes between both strut towers. That would work well with the rear sway bar you have.
