    30k Used Oil Analysis

I've been curious about getting a UOA from Blackstone for a while, and since I'm nearing a milestone on the car, I figured it's about time. I've been running Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w20 with Bosch Distance Plus filters (D3323) since the first oil change, starting at a 3k interval during break-in, then out to 5k.

I haven't been able to find a virgin oil analysis for 0w20, but I did find one for 5w20:

The sample has been mailed in, so I'll report back with the results once I get them in!

Results came in fairly quickly! Looks like the oil/filter combination is doing a great job at keeping the wear low. I was a bit concerned over such a low oil capacity being stretched out to 7k, but it looks like I can save a bit of money and stretch out my intervals, or go ahead and open up the throttle more once in a while!

Definitely interesting, I'll send them another sample later on down the road.

Here are my last 3 reports next to yours. I am also doing 5K intervals, but I'm using Mobil-1 5W30 "Extended Performance" oil and Mobil-1 filter. Our TBN numbers are very close.

This is interesting. ovo I'm surprised this lil bit of oil can go that far hahah. But I can't help my OCD. I keep changing it every 3. xD

Interesting seeing analysis from a car running 5w30 and 0w20 side by side. It seems like the 5w30 is providing no more protection than the 0w20 (contrary to many people thoughts). Granted there are lots of unknowns here, but the mileage on the cars and oil is similar at least.

Calcium, phosphorus and zinc?? Are those additives in the oil?
