Probably a lead-acid battery pack? The newer battery chemistries & motors are MUCH lighter.

I know a smaller (and older, let's be honest) rider who uses an e-assist mountain bike that enables her to go on group rides with faster riders that she wouldn't otherwise be able to join.
Correct! Lead acid battery - I could have changed it out to 1 or 2 lithium packs but I found that I rode this bike less than a conventional bike and just got rid of it. Now I ride my Honda Ruckus to work when the weather allows.

    You got a point.
I'm going to buy it online 'cause here in Europe we have a 14 days right of withdrawal.
Otherwise I would not spend 900€ for something like that w/o trying it out before...

How did you find out about this scooter? Are you considering any other similar modes of transportation?

At first I got a kick scooter to go around with my niece.

Then I came up with the idea of buying an electric model to cover the distance I need (6km) to go to work.
The problem is: in Italy they are not legal, just tolerated. As long as you don't run into a very finicky traffic policeman :-)

But the E-Micro One (found on the net, I don't remember how and when) looks like a standard kick scooter and this makes me feel more confident to avoid legal consequences...
