Which is a strange unit. It should be km/L or L/km.
Even in the US, some enlightened folks are advocating for using gallons per 100 miles, and there's a good reason:
Why We Should Measure by Gallons per Mile, Not Miles per Gallon

Where does the '100' come from? And why is it pushed? Who benefits?
It simply makes the resulting number easier to communicate, rather than dealing with decimal values well below 1.

    EG: what's easier to communicate, 4.4 L/100 km or 0.044 L/km ?
