Thread: Jalopnik: this unsold Mirage is the saddest car in the U.S.

    Still waiting for Mitsu to jack up the incentives...

    Here's a weird thing about old unsold cars I learned last week while helping a friend shop for her first & last new car (she's just retired, has always bought used, but figures it'll be a 20 year automotive relationship):

    The dealer had a brand new 2016 Kia Rio on the lot. It was more expensive than the new 2018 model due to the manufacturer incentives that were offered on the '18.

    How does that make any sense?

    She ended up going with a new 2017 Accent hatchback. (We would have test-driven a Mirage, but there are no dealers near here.)
