    Installing dashcam on attrage

    Hi,

I want to install dashcam on my Attrage, and hide the cables nicely.

How to I take out the white plastic marked in the photo, in order to put the cables behind it?

    Thanks,
    Niro.

Give it a sharp tug. It is just clipped on.

And I put it back just by pushing it back in?
BTW, is there an airbag there? (driver side).

There should be an airbag in there so be careful when removing the panel.

So is it safe to put the dashcam cable through there? I saw that all the car technicians install it there.

It's where I routed my dashcam cables.

    1. There's no airbag in the A pillar but there is an airbag tether in there for the side curtain airbag (at least that's how mine is configured.)

    2. Make sure to route your cables in such a way that they don't interfere with the airbag deployment.

    3. Yes - tug off, pop on. The panel even has it's own tether and I'm guessing is designed to fall away if/when that airbag deploys.

Just mind how everything is arranged when reassembling.

And we will need lots of pictures posted for all this free advice.

    Thanks man (-:
I'll sure post some pictures of the assembly and fuse replacement.
BTW, which fuse did you use for the dashcam? Lighter fuse?

Did you remove it with a special tool? Or just pulled it from the top?

I'm still using the cigarette lighter socket adapter that came with it. One day I ought to wire in the hardwired power supply, but it's working fine for me as it is. If I install the hardwired power supply, I plan on tapping into the cigarette lighter power wiring. It's sufficient for my purposes.

No special tool was used, and I can't remember where I pulled from. I think it was from one of the long sides. It came off pretty easily. Give yours a try - you'll see.
