I haven't done this yet so I appreciate the detailed pictures! Up until now I didn't understand the issue with the brake clip.

I'm just curious...why did you decide to put the bolts in the way you did? I was just going to follow these instructions and attach the bolts this way...

Off-roading trained me to reduce/eliminate that which can snag & break off.

    LOL...I got ya.

It's hard to tell from the picture...but do you think there's a chance the coil spring is contacting that bolt when the spring compresses?

Looking at this image, it looks like it would be close if the position of the bolt was reversed and the threads were pointing upward towards the spring...

Yes, I do think that the spring is making contact with one of those bolts. Shorter bolts might help. Inverting the bolt might not work because I'm pretty sure that the bolt head is larger than the nut and would interfere even more with the spring.

    2. Shorter mounting bolts would reduce the interference I'm having with my spring. However, the length as it is makes installation easier.
    1) I completely agree. The angled cut on the production piece is actually larger than my prototype, so I figured it would easily clear. This was a disappointment as I installed the production version. If I get another batch made, this will definitely be fixed.

    2) I am not crazy about installing shorter bolts. If you go with 5mm shorter bolts (the next shorter length), the threads come very close to not protruding past the nylon locking part of the nut. It is good practice to make sure you have some thread protrusion to ensure the locking part works properly.

I appreciate the feedback and notes on the install. Thanks guys!

Really awesome product Daox! Glad someone stepped up to provide some performance products for the Mirage since major companies show no interest. I'm interested to hear some more ride reports with the bar installed. I know on my Fiat 500, adding a rear bar really made the car feel more planted/solid in turns and made the handling feel more balanced with less understeer. Are ya'll seeing significant improvements here?

Do you still have any of these for sale?

What grade of steel is used in the round part of the bar, and the angle?
