Crashed my car because forgot parking brake (5 speed)

Years ago I had a 88 toyota pickup 5spd manual that my mother used to drive occasionally.

I used to get on her case about not setting the parking brake, she claimed... "oh just leaving it in gear works" I'd warn her that it wasn't the old Ford tractor from the farm and one day it would get up and go...

Then one day she used it to go to bingo, backed into a spot with a gentle grade to it, same old deal left it in gear and walked away.
Then,as she put it: "I got the feeling that someone was following me so I turned around and there it was, following me like a lost puppy"

I was pleased she had the honesty to come clean, she never failed to set the brake after that!
