Hey guys, I bought my 2017 Mirage after I had a 2006 Ford focus that needed about $4000 of work. I got the mirage in April last year, Currently it has around 8100 miles and the engine was replaced at about 6,900 due to blowing the exaust manifold and other such parts 😅. I've stalked this forum for a while, while looking for modifications for my ride, finally decided to join the community and do my best to contribute

Welcome aboard! Lots of Ohio crew here.

Get ready to explain the details of that engine failure because I'm sure that's going to be the first thing on everyon'e mind when they read your first post.

Welcome. Congrats on getting rid of your Focus. Like Top Fuel said, you'll have to explain that blown engine a little better. Can't say I've heard of an engine needing replacing before the first oil change.

The best information I have on the engine failure is user error, I had been driving for almost a year, but got my liscesnse about a month ago and was loving pushing the little motor to it's limits, I was on the highway, shifting from redline in 3rd gear to 4th, missed and went into 2nd, the engine went up to about 8000rpm. When i got home it started to sputter when idling, it sounded misfires. We took it up to our local mitsu dealer and it took them 2 weeks to find the cause, they had changed everything from the oil, spark plugs, cluth fluid, then they figured out the exaust manifold was blown, they attempted to fix the motor, it didn't work out. So then they ordered a new long block, got that installed and gave it back to me, I've taken better care of it this time around

Lucky for you that your dealer honored the warranty. Mind sharing what dealer took care of this for you?

A late welcome to the site!

What kind of mods are you looking to do on your Mirage?
Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

I'd love to start with speedlab's intake, but I'm going to get myself an OBD 2 sensor from bafx products. Then I'll probably get myself a new set of rims&tires. I've choose the Konig Lighting (R15) in blue and some Riken Raptor HR tires (185/65/15)
