2005 Prius with dead battery for $500

Hmmm...never thought about what one of these is worth once the battery is toast...

The battery is stupid simple to replace, just be uber careful. Id buy it, and an aftermarket battery, total invested $2000+1day of work

If I needed a cheap car, I'd grab one of these in a second. They are pretty much bulletproof other than the battery packs which, as was mentioned, aren't hard to replace.

Ironically, someone on Ecomodder just posted how to recondition a 2005 Prius battery pack. He only spent $250 fixing some modules in his. Cheaper than a new pack, but much more work intensive.

Custom Mirage products: Cruise control kit, Glove box light, MAF sensor housing, Rear sway bar, Upper grill block

Current project: DIY Nitrous oxide setup for ~$100

I'll have to check out that guy's video. If I didn't already have 200 things on my to-do list, this would be an interesting project. I still gotta get my rear sway bar installed!

Id almost rather a whole new battery for $1000, than a bunch of work for $250 haha

Than again, I AM a technician that diags, makes a call, then throws in a new battery for free
