When car shopping, all I see is price. I considered:
Fiesta Sedan
Accent
Rio
and even a used AWD Suzuki SX4, because AWD.
Mitsu was 2nd in line when I went shopping (after Ford) and they wanted to sell a car bad so I bit.
We've always been satisfied Mitsubishi customers. But probably the closest I came to considering after the Mirage was a Hyundai Accent -- for about five minutes.

I don't actually doubt the reliability of a Hyundai; heck, my wife is hankering for a Tucson shortly after we got the Mirage. Tucson units roaming around Metro Manila streets are, in fact, dime a dozen.
My only issue was that the Mirage gives me so much more for the money compared to the more expensive Accent; 20-30% more over a top-of-the-line Mirage's sticker price gets me an Accent sedan with a belt-driven engine, lower ride height, steel wheels and no GPS. Er, I think I'll pass.
