Road test: Mitsubishi Mirage is cheap but with ample charm
    Grant Edwards - Gladstone Observer

Those shopping in this aisle want reliability, cheap and functional A to B transport - and the Mirage delivers.
This is the first review I've read that doesn't complain about the steering feel or ratio, saying instead, "light steering [...] makes easy work of the urban jungle".

But it does get in the usual dig against hard plastics - "Hard plastics highlight its market positioning". (See our thread: Why does hard plastic offend car reviewers so badly? )

    Pros:

    • good price (great, with the introductory voucher)
    • feels roomy
    • one of the better CVT's tested
    • pleasantly surprised by performance & handling
    • funky colour choices

    Cons:
    • test drive proved thirstier than official rating
    • lack of cruise control
    • just adequate rear seat room

This is a mostly positive review that concludes with:

Value for money, quiet ride, economy, smooth automatic performance.

Are we seeing a pattern in the fuel consumption reports though? I wish they had provided a figure of what they actually got.

Yes there seems to be a pattern in fuel consumption and that pattern is a lot higher then the reported offical figures
Lets hope that they get better with more klm on the cars or that the displayed figures on the dash are way out or both.
