well i have to google it again but it was that the battery managment system keeps track of the battery condition
the start stop system mirage got a BMS ( or incorrect? )

when you replace the battery you need to tell the BMS that its new so it would erase its memory according to the old battery health

There has to be a way to do that manually yourself. What if your battery dies on you? You can't get a jump from someone? That would be dumb.

Can anyone with a car with start/stop check out their manual and see what it says about batter replacement?

Having personally designed a BMS system for lithium batteries, I can't see having to manually reset it. I built those smarts right into my BMS so you never have to worry about it. Also, lead acid is so easy to deal with compared to lithium.

However, stranger things have happened. I'll wait to hear from an owner with an actual manual to let me know.

Yup, I understand. I just don't see why you'd need to do some sort of BMS reset. I don't think it would be necessary if Mitsubishi programmed it smart enough, and I would think that they would do that.

i think it would be in line wiht every thing these days

but i have to say that you normally see this with german cars

when you replace a battery in a new mercedes yourself the car wil no longer start...
the computer needs to be told that the battery is replaced and you need to keep the system under power when doing so.

i think these are ways to keep cash flowing in the direction of dealers because cars these days run longer then 20 years ago.

No that is combined. Not sure about the start stop, You might be able to uninstall start stop.

German cars are not built for easy owner maintenance. you can't even easily replace the spark plugs. But indeed, Audi, BMW, Mercedes will not start and gives computer failure if you replace the battery without manually resetting the computer afterwards.

My manager's BMW has to be towed away because of computer fault and he can't start his engine. Stupid. I would have disconnect and reconnect the battery to reset the computer but unfortunately won't work on superior "german engineering"

i read this on the dutch site "• Gemiddeld verbruik 4,8 tot 5,8 l/100km" so average betrween 4,8 and 5,8.??? hwo is that average....

so best case would be 4,8 ( highway i geus ) and worst would be 5,8 ( city?? ) or is averag 5,8 with lots of city and less highway and with most highway you get 4.8..

never seen somebody do a average within a range haha.
