Just passed one year of ownership: 13,500 miles so far. 5MT, mostly urban / suburban / exurban driving.

I looked at my manual several times and it's definitely not listed as regular 30k service. Was there an addendum?

Changing at 30k won't hurt a thing. As I mentioned, I doubt if the fluid fails all that rapidly, as some of the Jatco's are sealed and never require fluid change. And they seem to last well over 100k. I'll ask next time I talk to a transmission mechanic.
Exactly, with a conventional automatic transmission you pull both of the tranny oil lines from the radiator. You put one in a bottle of new fluid, you put the output end in an empty bucket. You start the car apply the brake and put the transmission in gear. Run it until you see the brighter new red liquid coming out into the bucket and you turn it off. It takes two people and after, you just successfully swapped out the fluid without causing any deposits to break away clogging the solenoids and/or without having to remove the transmission oil pan.

I think on my Ford Explorer it was ninety thousand miles but in the back of the owner's manual for the Mirage it says change oil at 30,000. Standard maintenance. Subaru CVT transmissions are sealed and never require service.

My 2016 Outlander Sport says to do trans oil swap at 30,000 miles also.

Just about 45,000 miles on mine. No further issues. So far a good cheap car!
