Why don't they sell that here. They can't give the dart away so maybe dodge customers don't buy small cars here in the states.

After riding a few times in my ‘15 hatchback one of my co-workers liked It so much they went all the way from Coos Bay to Vancouver, WA (500 mile round trip) to buy a leftover ‘17 G4. She had a Toyota Corolla and hated it and owned a Toyota Echo in the past and the Mirage was like her Echo (simple, reliable, excellent economy). She loves it. I parked behind her for a “group photo”.

The 2000-05 Toyota Echo was another vehicle that was trashed by many professional auto critics, but loved by their owners. When you read the owner reviews of the Echo, you would have thought it was the best car Toyota ever made. I never met anyone, who wasn't happy with their Echo. People who owned them had realistic expectations of what it was meant for.

Using your words "simple, reliable, and excellent economy" sounds great to me. Seems like there should always be a market for that type of car. Although I never owned one, I could see why a former Echo owners would love the Mirage.

Nice story & pics to go with! Thanks for sharing!

I owned a 2004 Echo briefly -- had it on the road for less than a month before I sold it. (Short explanation: A couple of years back I bought one -- 2 door, 5-speed -- to use as a winter car, then ended up not needing it.)

I've owned a LOT of econoboxes through the years, and it was easily the best screwed-together car of the lot. It felt really well engineered (not counting the fatal corrosion flaw at the rear axle mounting point!). I have a 2000 Metro as my winter car now, and the difference between the two is starkly depressing!

That thing looks sweet. Are echoed and mirages about the same size? I have not seen a echo in a long time
