I removed the battery well from my '14 and put a group 27 (I think, I forget, membering is hard) battery in. The battery is substantially larger than the factory 35 but it clamps down down fine and isn't going to move. I had the battery in before for trial fitting but this is now the permanent home.

DT99 - Do you have to reach in, under the driver's seat, from the rear seat floor area ... to turn the jack?

And, in any case, can it be turned by hand to loosen it to remove it? Or will some tool needed to break it loose?

I've been impressed with the factory battery even though it has such a low CCA rating.

Mine will probably die tomorrow after saying that.

Extreme heat & cold is hard on batteries. My guess is Seattle doesn't experience much of either one.

Worse still is allowing a lead acid battery to go below 50% capacity. If you ever allow it to go fully flat consider it toast.

No. Just have driver seat moved all the way to the front to get better view of the jack stand from the left rear passenger seat.

The jack can be turned by hand. Otherwise, the jack bar would do it as shown from the picture. Simply have it turned with a bar like opening a jar with a tight lid. Once untight, turn it by hand and you should have no problem removing it under.
