So after looking at several forum post here and across the web let me say I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. While I will not attempt a reinstall by myself I forgot to do one critical thing most OLDER cars don't really FORCE you to do. I never once disconnected the battery while installing the aftermarket radio. I'm thinking this is 100% my own doing and very thankful the dealer is deciding to cover for me. They know I messed it up, but they're helping me anyway. Thanks for the replies everyone. Glad to be on such a knowledgeable forum. I'll be around.
Definitely not. Lot's of us are running aftermarket radios (including me) so it is do-able. Maybe your wiring instructions aren't the best?!?
New cars are definitely unique. I had a 2009 GM car, and I tried to disable the OnStar module by unplugging it. Well...that was a mistake. That essentially removed it from the CAN bus and literally caused every electrical component in the car to behave as if it was broken. And the car wouldn't start, too. I plugged it back in and everything was fine.

Any recommendations? If I try to install another radio myself and something goes wrong they will not cover it. Is a professional on the hook if something goes wrong and I have them do it? I'm not sure what to do here. I'm 100% all of my wiring was correct I thought several radios and several different vehicles using the same methods and have never had a problem until I touch the 2017 car. I don't want to be stuck with this factory radio.
Has anyone installed an amp using the factory radio? I've done car stereo installations before but I'm curious if it has any sort of pre out type output or if I have to use high level. The reason I ask is I looked at the Rockford Fosgate edition and where it was connected, when I was looking to install sound deadening it appears there is some sort of wiring run to the back that isn't connected to anything in the same location on mine. It's raining out today so I can't really go take pics or investigate anything.
I've got several amps of varying sizes but I was going to put a smaller amp in and use one of those cheap sub/tweeter boxes so I can just remove it when I need cargo room.
Does it look like what is described in this thread: Mystery phone internet type cable?

I seem to recall it looking like a Molex connector not one of those remote bass type jobs. I'll have to wait until after the downpours stop to do anything about it. All I know is it's an ES and was purchased new so whatever it is is a factory run.
If it's a low level I can just convert RCA cables to it them into the amp. If it provides everything I can simply tap the factory harness for the amp, I was planning on a fairly small amp as it is.
From what I know, there is no line level output on the base factory radio - speakers only.
