We had really nasty raining all day today and because of it I was very busy working. I basically just kept it in low gear all day with the gas to the floor. I probably passed three or four hundred cars in local traffic driving constant stop-and-go. Probably turn the car on and off 50x. My onboard miles per gallon is 25.5 and has been all day. AC full blast RPMs between 3 and 4 thousand. It's been a long 11-hour day. The 2014 Toyota Corolla that I rented for 7 weeks before I bought this car in the same exact conditions averaged 30 miles per gallon.

1117 kilometers or 694 miles with the last tank with 32.61 liters / 8,61 gallons. This means 2.92 l/100 km or 80.55 miles per gallon.

The last trip from work to the gas station was 2.7 l/100 km, so the range indicator now shows more than 1200 km.

Amazing. I would be offended by your bragging if I wasn't so awestruck.

    If I may brag here

I can't beat 25Plus's killer tanks but today I saw a personal record. My car thinks there is still 850 miles (1367km) range left on top of
over 50 miles on this tank's odometer.

I had it showing 810 a few times before but never above that.
This required to keep the tank average around 94 MPG for over 50 miles. Of course I won't be able to keep this up in regular commuting traffic (this was weekend traffic.) but hopefully it will be a good tank!

Nice! Do you think this has anything to do with your alignment work?

I'm getting around 400 in a tank. Thats pretty good considering the grippier tires, mudflaps, basket/roof rack, and the Yakima Flair.

That certainly did not hurt but the real help was the light traffic that allowed me to drive more efficiently

Your mileage numbers are amazing. I think I would have to drive to work downhill both ways to match your numbers. And you're doing it in Florida where I assume you are running the AC more than most people.

No A/C on these MPG runs. Only use A/C when rain fogs up the windows or I have a passenger or going somewhere dressed decent and don't want to get sweaty.

I drive with the windows cracked down on the driver side and passenger front if I want more cross breeze.
I work in a non air conditioned environment so I'm drenched all day anyway. Park the car in shade so it's not bad when I get in it.

A/C destroys MPG in the mirage. Makes me wonder those economy challenge runs they do and say A/C was used..did they just
turn it on for a second and say see? We used it! I could see getting MPG in the sixties with A/C but certainly not above that.

My guess is that on those economy challenge runs they are running the a/c with the temperature set to 80f / 26c or so. Not running the compressor very much, just using the dehumidfing in recirc mode to make it tolerable. That's not that unpleasant if you can get the humidity down to 10% or so in the interior of the car. I set mine to 72f / 22c and it's very comfortable. No need to have it like a meat locker anyway.
