I too have noticed the rear view is at face level. This is due (I believe) to a couple of factors.

    1) our seating position being very upright and high
    2) we have that drooping spoiler in the back that requires the mirror to be mounted a bit lower than normal

Add those two together and you get our unique mirror mount location.

The mirror mount has 2 articulating points so it can be moved quite high. It is much, much better than on the smart car I had. That required a lot of bobbing and weaving to see around the mirror.

    THANKYOU !!!!

I just went out there and did it. Much better...

That tip could prevent a crash.

I bet I would have noticed the articulation right after I got the mirror off the windshield (face palm)

Holy crap! You're correct! Thanks! I can't believe I overlooked the usefulness of pivot point.

Lol, threepot. I'm equally as bad. I've actually looked at the pivot point before. I've just never tried to move it.

I am a taller guy too, and yeah, I noticed I have to look "around" the mirror too. It was kind of an obstruction... glad you found this out, I added this thread to the "quirks" thread with other interesting and useful tidbits.

I'm 6'3" and found that it does create quite the blindspot in the forward view, so I moved it up as high as possible and found that that view of my rear roof and the kamm-spoiler wasn't very helpful, so I've put it in a middle to lower position and made the mental note to double check the front view. This, if anything is my highest complaint about the car, it's a serious safety hindrance.

The other day I accidentally found out that the side mirrors are retractable.

I'm just going to see how it is with the rear view removed. I used to drive trucks.
