I dont know about that. The factory paint does look great but seems very soft or cheap. If I had the money I would repaint it with something better.....

I work in the sign industry and quality wrapping is just as expensive as painting at 2-3K. And even a good wrap ruins the paint under it 70% of the time . You could do your own plasti-dip for a few hundred and clean up is easy.

Wow...really? What part of a wrap ends up damaging the paint? I always assumed wrapping was safe.

Wrapping can trap particles under it that then get baked into the paint, requiring sanding and repainting when removed. And a lot of the tools used to install it scratch the paint, even the plastic ones, that then rusts under the wrap. The worse is if they use cheap wrap, where the glue bakes into the paint and then it cracks and spiderwebs and tends to peel paint chips off when it goes.

It really just depends on the knowledge of the installer and the quality of the job they do. Is the paint and body of the car in good condition before they start? Was the car properly washed, sanded and rewashed before installing? Did they use a high quality wrap made for cars versus signs?

I vote for plastidip DIY. Go crazy for a fraction of the price,.

Or ... owners of various colour Mirages could get together and do "Harlequin" versions.
