Thanks. I guess I am hyper vigilant when my car does something unexpected. Since my last two cars were around 20 years old when I traded I just assume something is about to break.

If you drive normally, you will barely notice a rubber band effect. if you push it a little more, the rubber band effect increases gradually. It is normal for CVT transmissions. Note also that there is a low/high gearing attached to the CVT in the Mirage/Space Star.
