This 3A90 Mirage without AS&G has no EGR system, only those with AS&G do have EGR.

I assume the valve-overlap creats enough EGR for the car to pass initial European type approval. That might explain the problem, because unfinished-burnt exhaust gasses blowing onto the intake valves will foul them up.

    UPDATE:

That local company with a small fleet of 3A90 Mirage's (called Space Star here) has gotten rid of their entire fleet.
I was told each one of their 3A90 Mirage repeatedly suffered the same issue.
They now have a fleet of Suzuki Celerio.

    UPDATE, almost one year later:

The milage is now around 40 000km, almost double of what it was with the stuck valves, and the same problem has not happened again.

Here some pix of the intake valves, which all look similar, no matter what valve and what cylinder.

The left valve in cylinder one looks like this:

The right valve in cylinder 3:

    Thanks for the update, Foama.

Did you take those pictures yourself?

Cool pictures. How did you capture these images - what equipment did you use?

Yes, took the pix today with a USB endoscope. They're sold by Weepay and other sites for around 10-15 bucks.

Taking those pictures was easy. I just took the block with the three injectors out (two bolts), and stuck the endoscope through each injector hole for looking at the valves, and took pictures. Afterwards thoroughly cleaned and lightly lubed the O-rings and put all back together. Real easy to do, took no more than 10 mins.

Also, what do you think is making the valves different now from last year?

You could read the thread from the start to understand.

Last year the engine was taken apart, because it failed to start. Reason being, the intake valves and in particular, the stems, were so completely full of sticky, gooey muck, the intake valves remained stuck open. With open valves no compression, starting impossible.
The warranty covered the repair. Without the warranty, I would have received a bill for about €3000 (almost $3000) and that’s more than I can afford! I didn't want to suffer the same problem again!

Today, with roughly twice the mileage and the warranty slowly coming to an end, I wanted to know if the problem was coming back. That's why I looked at the valves with the endoscope, and posted it here.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. It's true - I haven't taken the time to read the whole thread in its entirety. However I'm still familiar enough with the problem to wonder if you had made any changes, mechanical or otherwise, even if only using different fuel.

    No offence!

And no, nothing changed on the engine. Remember it is a 1.0l model without AS&G and consequently no AGR.
It seems AGR has been sufficiently achieved for compliance testing (EC type approval) by valve overlap alone.

    UPDATE july 2017

After what happened (you may want to read post number one), I routinely take pix of the intake valves by endoscope. Why? Because I don't want a very expensive problem to come back without warning.
Here are the latest pictures roughly 30 000km and almost 1 1/2 years later.
The pix of the other valves look very similar, and therefore were not posted:
