As the top of the rear suspension is already boxed, I'm pretty sure only by boxing off the lower end will you achieve less wander/see saw effects...

Well I ran w/ Gunlak's idea and made a strut -- seeing if it improved handling (no one answered my ? about this). Cost $2.68 for the bar at Home Depot, cut, squash ends w/ a vice, measure well and drill holes.
Man, has it improved the handling! I suspect w/out some type of stabilization, the rear suspension floats around like a bowl of jello, leading to the need for constant steering correction. Just putting this top rear bar in has made a seriously noticable improvement!!!
I get the noises too, agree it's sound transmission, just put the seats up and the rear cover in and they go away.
I'm thinking of getting the lower strut from Ultra as the upper bar cuts into storage space, but it's rare I need all of it.
I may get a bar bending tool, and consider making a top bar for the front. More difficult job but prolly worth it.
    Thanks Gunlak, a brilliant solution.

Yes I wish I could fit the top bar but I keep a catering bag or hot box in the back of the hatch about the size of it. But just closing off the bottom rear with Name: IMG_0468.JPG

Size: 56.9 KB made such a huge difference as it did feel like Jell-O and seesaw all over the place. I wish there was a rear upper strut bar available that actually ran along the back of the back seats in curved around the cargo area so that it was out of the way. On the front I did a lower chassis brace and the upper strut brace at the same time it did take out the confusion/wander while going through ruts mid corner. Wider wheels and tires made a difference as well.

One thing to add is that I believe the 2017 has a thick piece of Steel at the top of the rear shock Tower that helps stiffen it up. So if you're saying it pulled a lot of that slack out then it probably doesn't matter if it's on the top of the bottom but I bet the feels different and both of them together would be insane nice

for me, before I did all these mods, I've driven my car around 30k km's already so I pretty much know how my car feels stock.. body roll everywhere, road noise, and soft suspension.

in conjunction with my new set of wider and stickier tires, lowered suspension, UR Front Strut, Rear Sway Bar, and this Rear Strut bar that I made, body roll is significantly reduced.. I did it step by step by getting the front strut bar first, then the springs, then made the rear struts, and finally the rear sways. every step, made the ride a little bit harsher but I definitely felt a more precise steering and less body roll since I love to drive hard on mountain roads.

The springs made the most difference out of all the suspension mods. the least i may say is the rear strut bar. i just thought it's more of the icing on the cake since it's fairly easy to do.. and really, we don't have much measurable difference other than what we feel driving our cars.

Just got mine, and have tried for at least an hour trying to remove the bolts on the strut and have had absolutely no luck. They just twist the whole top of the strut. I have tried using a wrench to counterforce and still it hasn't worked.
