not uncommon. Apparently, theres a lot of $ saved keeping the seats up.
Having a trunk is a lot of space for the average joe.
Yes most of the sedans I have owned have an attached rear seat. I can think of my Pontiac grand Am and a few Camaros I had that were screwed in.
That stinks :p . Nice to have folding seats for long items . MITSUBISHI , please give us folding rear seats for the U.S..
Even BMW has metal plate at the back of the seat! to keep the thieves from entering through the trunk?
I bet BMW's with fixed rear seats have small pass-throughs for skis/single snowboard though. Or a few 2x4's. :)
Wait: I did a search just now and there are pics of BMW sedans with folding seatbacks.

I c, good to know. But there indeed some bmw's with no folded rear seats
The Mirage Sedan has some structural body bars, which cross the space behind the rear seatback to improve the resistance to diagonal body torsion.
BTW, the base Lancer DE (DE is not available since 2014MY) and the Lancer Evolution have not the folded rear seatbacks.
