I noticed that yesterday posted a new high number of visitors at one time as reported at the bottom of the forum main page.

Nice! I do miss forums like these. Probably the only forum I'm actively on.
I know I'm weird, but I still go on the Chrysler minivan forum even though I don't have my Caravan anymore. Maybe some people just can't get enough of a good thing here!
I still check in daily even though I haven't had mine since my accident last year...
Secretly I think I'm just waiting for Loren's For Sale thread... :D
Mainly just reassuring them that they're good products. I'm not a technical kind of guy but my experience with the van was great. The Honda and Toyota vans are nice, but not vastly superior like some would like you to believe.
On a side note, the Caravan is a lot like the Mirage. At the right price, they are great but no one should be paying $27k for one but for $18k it should be on your short list.
Interesting! Yet the overall hits to the site weren't unusually high yesterday.
But things are chugging along nicely this year. 2016 was our busiest year owing to a big spike in traffic in the first part of the year when Mitsu USA offered huge blow-out discounts on the leftover 2015 models.
But 2019 is shaping up to be above the trend line of the past few years, which were relatively steady. It's fantastic to see continued & growing interest in the car reflected in the forum!

I have to think a lot has to do with the members. People here are a pretty amazing bunch - enthusiastic, friendly, welcoming, helpful. That makes a difference.
Not sure what to make of this but this is what the Main Page says today:
I'm getting the impression this count reset itself overnight.Quote:

If 228 was an all time record, and now there are 174 users online, I think that either a link to this forum popped up in some busy blog, or some botnet has found this forum.Quote:

Most users ever online was 215, Today at 05:15 AM.
Search engines from around the world constantly browse this and every other publicly available website.

A link to this can be found at the bottom of the forum Home Page.
I did a bit of digging, and it seems the resetting "most users ever online" tally is a bug in the software that was introduced after an update. It used to stay put unless manually reset by an admin.
If I recall, the actual record was much higher like 500? 700?
Here's the stat I remember...
As Space Wolf says, it was probably the result of someone linking to the site from a busy blog or reddit thread.Quote:

Google recently changed the way it ranks sites for search performance, so it could be that.
It could be Mitsu is offering bigger rebates on the cars - I haven't checked. But that drives people to research the car and read the forum.
I checked - no unusually good rebates going on in the U.S. $500 for the hatch, $750 for the G4.
Top popular page in the past 24h was the forum search page.
Looks like our counter didn't reset from yesterday.Quote:

It appears to be resetting daily again.

FYI: yesterday was the forum's busiest day (hits/visitors) since the Great Discounted Mirage Traffic Spike of early 2016. Over 3 years ago.
There doesn't seem to be any specific reason (no big referring site) - it's just general traffic, most of which is people searching for Mirage info and apparently finding it here.
This morning's update.Quote:

Turns out August was the forum's best month so far in terms of total visitors, by a hair.
It was 5th best in terms of page views. (The top 3 months were during the 2015 model year discount blow-out sale in the U.S.; July was our next best.)
I'm curious to see when this counter resets.Quote:

I suppose you're right - I wouldn't know. I wondered how that was calculated. Do you think it's possible that bots are trying to appear as though they were individuals?
It's fun to watch though. :)Quote:

This one ties Monday's high.
