You are quoting the information about "Idle Neutral Logic" not the physical movement of the shifter from "D" to "N". Idle Neutral Logic will artificially place the transmission in a neutral like condition while in "D" to reduce wear and tear on the CVT under a certain set of conditions. Once you review the list however there are a lot of exceptions which is why I manually put mine in neutral at every stop if I'm stopped for more than 10 seconds.
