Mirage Meet at GeoPalooza in NE Ohio 8/5/17

Most of you know I run the Geo Metro Forum and have been hosting meets every year in the region. Since many of my members are now owners of the Mitsubishi Mirage, I decided to try and have a Mitsubishi Mirage Mini Meet at the same location on August 5th 2017. The Geo Metro owners will be camping and hanging out at my place and I think it would be cool to invite like-minded people to the same meet. Having a Mirage Meet and Metro Meet at the same place and time will be a one time thing.

There is a large farm directly across the street with a large loop driveway and I figure we can have the Mirages line up in a single or double row around the loop depending on how many show up. All Mirage owners are welcome to join in with all the festivities and fun. If you are a Geo Metro owner too, I strongly urge you to bring it if possible.

Basically, I am testing the waters with the Mirage owners and if it is a success, then I will start hosting Mitsubishi Mirage Meets every year separate from the Metro meet. All the info you need can be found at the link below....

It would be great to go to a car event of such a different kind, hopefully I'm off of work I'll deff make the trip!

Maybe... It's less than 10 hrs @ 65 mph. Can't make any promises yet, but I would have to take the 15 cause I haven't taught the Mrs how to jam gears yet. But she did drive 60 miles today lol

If I were closer, I'd go.

I hope you all have fun! Unfortunately I need to be at 4 other places tomorrow between work, multiple simultaneous family gatherings out of town and dogsitting for a friend. Hopefully next year I'll be able to roll down there with Sensha.

So how was the Mirage Meet? Looking forward to hearing how things turned out.

Sadly no Mirage owners showed up except our best friend with her 2014. We did have 52 Metros.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it out, and I'm not too far. We took a three week road trip out to Washington State to visit with the grandparents and returned Saturday night.

Sounds like the meet was otherwise a success for you. It's very cool that you put that together. That must be a lot of work!

Maybe I could make it out another time. I've always been a fan of the Metro but never got one.

I really wanted to go, but I'm in the process of replacing my roof, sheathing and all, by myself (with a few exceptions), and it's taking a lot longer than expected. This weekend was just way too perfect for roofing, to be able to take a day off. I should have though, because my left index finger got caught between the hammer tacker and plywood, and the nail is turning all sorts of purty colors that fingers shouldn't. :) If you have another Mirage-friendly meet next year, I can almost guarantee my attendance.

Man I had this marked on my calendar/reminder and everything. Apparently I forgot about 3 other important family events on the same weekend which left no room for Geopalooza. Sigh. Sorry I couldn't get there...

You can see my Mirage and our best friend's Mirage all alone in the first pic. I don't have a pic of all the cars at once, but here is the general idea in the second pic........

Wow...that's pretty impressive. I can't remember the last time I saw a Metro convertible. :)

Is is possible Mirages aren't "extreme" enough to develop a cult following yet?

Or is it the lack of variability? You could get a lot of different body styles and drivetrains in the various Suzukiclones back in the day.

You are probably correct. Maybe not a "Cult following" for the Mirage yet.

I'm really sorry i missed this. I tore something in my knee july 3rd and am still unable to walk.

Probably not going to host a Mirage meet next year, just the Metro meet.

I think it's because the metro always advertised 50mpg across the USA for like 50 bucks back in their old ads and nothing was getting great mileage back then and no one cared about mileage back then either. So it was a small oddity that drew a cult following.

But now even pretty large cars advertise 40mpg even non hybrids etc.
