Bumping in hopes Ares sees this and doesn't forget to measure things. :)
I am soooo on board with this. I have felt better shift throws in a grain truck than in this car, lol so it has always been somewhat of a priority. I have called and talked to manufacturers. Always get the same response as the struts... no plans for a product. I did find that it seems to share a part number with a Chrysler product shifter, but I can't find which one. I had hoped if I could find that out, someone may have already done the hard part for us. Anywho... I will do whatever I can to help.
I'm glad to hear there is interest in this. As soon as I get measurements I can do the modifications and get the first one shipped out.
Still looking for help with those measurements. :) I'm open to anyone snapping me a few pics and measuring things up.
Sorry dude, I have been busy all week. Usually have time to at least browse the forum once a day.
With that said, I'm looking forward to the long weekend. I will definitely make time this weekend to get this done.
Awesome, I'm glad to hear it. Take lots of pics if you would and email them to tim@mirageforum.com. Thanks Ares!
Bumping for help still. :)
Hey Daox,
Greetings from Australia.
I've just ordered a G5 shortshifter ($30AUD) and will pull mine apart on Wednesday to get the measurements.
I've had a good look at it previously and it looks very close to a g5- I think the circlip is to replace the pushnut that gets destroyed during disassembly.
I'll take pictures as well for reference.
My Mirage is a base model, bought cheap new with hail damage and basically is my work hack. That said, I can't help but tinker.
I'll be in touch!
Matt
Sounds great Matt, thanks!
