Here is my most recent oil analysis. I had my first analysis done at 1,000 miles when the oil was full of break-in materials (those numbers are shown on the report below). So this is my first "normal" test.
I run Mobil1 Extended Performance 5W30 and change it every 5,000 miles. My car has just over 20,000 miles. Why do I buy extended life oil and then change it every 5,000 miles? The Extended life oil doesn't cost much more...so I figure I'll buy it for the additional additives that it has. Oil changes in this car are cheap...so I like being conservative and just changing it every 5,000 miles. Hey...I'm getting better fuel mileage than 98% of you guys...so don't bust my chops about wasting money on oil changes. :p :D

So my aluminum number is the only thing that seems slightly high. I noticed that this member also had a report showing high aluminum.
I'm not hitting the panic button, but as a public service to the Mirage community, I think I will start testing my oil at every 5,000 mile change going forward to see how that aluminum number changes. :)
