blower fan bearing noise
Hello,
I purchased a 2014 mirage se in October:D. Every time I have the Hvac unit on the blower fan's bearing makes a med-hi pitch noise, that is louder than the fans white noise when under 50%. I wounder if any one else has this problem? Is it normal for the mirage to make that noise:confused:. the noise sounds like a old computer fan with a worn out ball bearing.

Can't say about the 2014s but my 2015 SE just makes the standard fan blowing noise. No bearing noise, no squeal, no leaf scraping (yet). You might want to get that checked, just in case. Wouldn't want to lose the fan this time of year...

I agree. I'd take it to the dealer and have it checked out. Let us know what they say.

Sounds like the bearing's no good. And I find those kind of bearings are often noisier in the cold, which we're experiencing now.
Let us know what you learn.

Hi so I got the dealer to look at it. They are ordering a new blower fan, and will install it under warranty
I'll let you guys know how it sounds after the new one is installed.

Hope the new one is a lot quieter!

just a update as this thread has been linked. The new blower motor is a lot quieter and has been working much better. even in the extreme cold that Waterloo has been having the last few days -35*c.
