Heater control valves are pretty cheap. I picked one up for another project of mine a while ago. It is setup to have a cable attached to it. If you look at the 'frequently bought together' it should show you all the bits you would require.

This one has a bypass-

Or go super cheap and grab a water valve from a 70's ford then just use a choke cable and knob or throttle cable from a lawnmower.
I updated my WAI the other day. The previous version took very long to warm up. In order to keep it warm, I had to watch how much cabin heat I used. No thanks, haha. So, I got a new 3" diameter aluminum dryer duct and went to work. It only took a few minutes to install, but it does work a lot better than the first version. It heats up so much faster, and it also gets warmer.
I've only had it installed for a day or so. I'm still trying to figure out just how warm its getting things. Ambient temp this morning was 25F. However, when I started the car my scangauge showed 40F for intake temp. The max temp I saw on the trip to work was 65F and it mostly hovered just below that. I'll double check those numbers on the way home since the car will have a chance to cold soak without the block heater (which I run in the morning).

Nice job. Sealing that vent tubing at the snorkle with aluminum tape, and insulating the tube from the cold air passing through the engine compartment will help raise those intake temps.
Hi,
Sounds like a stupid question but, if im from a tropical country, is there still a need for a Warm air intake? or better to have CAI cold air intake? what difference does it make?
Well, the WAI I've been running is REALLY working well lately. Here is a shot of one of my recent trips. The intake air temp is up to 150F. A later trip in the day actually got up to 170F. This is too warm IMO. The power loss was very real which is what we're going for, but this was a bit too much.

I will have to make a note of my intake air temps tomorrow. Right now I am running with a completely stock intake setup, but I have a 2" diameter hole punched into the back of my airbox...

This draws in more under hood air. I think my IAT was around 120 today (ambient was around 80F). I'll double-check that tomorrow.
That hole is where my WAI connects in the winter. I still need to post the write-up on my 2.0 version. ;)
That’s so dangerous! You’re low tire pressure and airbag light are on! That’s basically a coffin on wheel, let’s be honest. Here’s an easy and affordable fix for those warning lights. If that doesn’t fix it, be sure to check your brake lines that aren’t rattling.
